Dr. Al Mufti

Dr. Hussein Al-Mufti successfully completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Surgery in 2005 from the University of Baghdad/Iraq. He subsequently moved to Jordan due to political conflicts in his country and practiced dentistry there for a couple of years. Dr. Al-Mufti then trained in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery at the University of Malaya in Malaysia for two years. Upon completion, he was awarded the Chevening scholarship from the British Council to start his Master’s Degree in Public Health at the university of Glasgow, Scotland. He then practiced in England and received training while working at Bradford Royal Infirmary (Part of Bradford Teaching Hospitals) as a Senior House Officer in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery.

Dr. Al-Mufti decided to move to Canada in 2012 and immediately started his qualification exams to obtain his dental license there. He joined the International Dental Degree Program (IDDP) at the University of Manitoba. Upon graduation, he received multiple awards such as: Dr. William Bloom Prize-for the highest overall average in Oral Surgery, Dr. Joseph Freeman Memorial Prize- for the highest standing in Oral Surgery & the Canadian Academy Of Periodontology Award- for the graduating student with the highest standing in Periodontology. 

Continuing Dental education has always been a passion of Dr. Al-Mufti. Since completing his training in Canada, he has received multiple certifications in IV and Oral sedation, Dental Implant Placement, Hard and Soft tissue grafting, Wisdom teeth extraction and sinus lifts. He is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (BAOMS), American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID), Canadian Dental Society (CDS), Ontario Dental Association (ODA) and the Ottawa Dental Society (ODS).

Dr. Al-Mufti is fluent in English and Arabic. Swimming, Cycling and Running are his favourite sports.
